Which Option Is Right for Me?

Choose the Clarity Consultation if... you're unsure what approach is right for your child, you've already tried potty training and gotten stuck, you're dealing with resistance or another specific challenge, or you'd simply feel more confident having personalized guidance.

Already own the Potty Playbook? You can still book a Clarity Consultation for personalized support.

Guidance From a Certified Potty Training Consultant

Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a Certified Potty Training Consultant and the founder of Restored Nights. My approach focuses on practical, developmentally appropriate strategies that consider the whole child—not just whether they're using the potty yet.

My goal isn't to give every family the same potty training formula. It's to help you understand what makes sense for your child and leave you feeling confident about what to do next.

FAQs

What age should I start potty training?

1

There isn't one perfect age to begin potty training. Rather than focusing on a specific birthday, I recommend looking at your child's readiness skills, interest, communication, independence, and ability to participate in the process.

If you're unsure whether your child is ready—or you've tried before and aren't sure whether to try again—the Potty Training Clarity Consultation can help you determine the best next step for your child.

How do I know if my child is ready for potty training?

2

Potty training readiness is about more than simply showing interest in the potty. Signs can include awareness of pee or poop, communicating about bathroom needs, participating in dressing and undressing, following simple directions, staying dry for periods of time, and showing some willingness to participate.

Your child doesn't need to check every box before you begin. The goal is to look at the full picture and choose an approach that fits your child's current skills and temperament.

What's the difference between the Potty Playbook and the Clarity Consultation?

3

The Potty Playbook is a self-guided resource designed for parents who want a practical, step-by-step framework they can implement independently.

The Potty Training Clarity Consultation is personalized to your child and family. Before we meet, I'll review a detailed intake covering your child's readiness, potty training history, routines, temperament, current challenges, and more. We'll then meet for a 45–60 minute private consultation, and you'll receive a personalized Potty Training Action Plan, the Potty Playbook, and one follow-up email for questions or clarification.

If you're comfortable taking a DIY approach, start with the Playbook. If you're thinking, “But what should I do with my child?” the consultation is likely the better fit.

What happens after my consultation?

Your consultation can address concerns such as getting started, potty refusal or resistance, frequent accidents, difficulty with poop, withholding behaviors, prompting, rewards and motivation, independent initiation, regressions, daycare or caregiver consistency, outings and public bathrooms, and other common potty training challenges.

If information shared during the intake or consultation suggests a concern that would be better evaluated by your child's healthcare provider—such as pain, constipation, urinary symptoms, or another medical or developmental concern—I'll recommend discussing it with the appropriate provider.

Within two business days of your consultation, you'll receive your personalized Potty Training Action Plan outlining the recommendations and next steps we discussed. You'll also receive the Restored Nights Potty Playbook as an additional resource, with guidance on which sections are most relevant to your family's plan.

Your consultation includes one follow-up email for questions or clarification within seven days of receiving your Action Plan, so you'll have an opportunity to check in once you've started putting your plan into practice.

Can I book a consultation if we've already started potty training?

4

What potty training challenges can we discuss during a consultation?

Absolutely. You don't have to be starting from scratch.

The Clarity Consultation can be used before you begin, after an attempt that didn't go as planned, or when you've made progress but have hit a specific challenge. We'll look at what's currently happening, what's already been tried, and what adjustments may make sense moving forward.
